Felt the need to express myself about the change and other misc. stuff that makes life so memorable.Lieselhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13184570940944503110noreply@blogger.comBlogger4125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1118803500471315261.post-57737890699195095222007-05-16T22:57:00.000-07:002007-05-16T23:31:04.737-07:00Just another day in the KUUNTRYToday was an interesting day for a city girl. My day started out by hearing that I had lost a job opportunity because the "hiring manager" (who the hell is that? c'mon!) felt that I had limited experience as a supervisor -- in the sense that I had been limited to working in a small company environment. Please! I supervised grown men who were retired LAPD/government law enforcement-types, as well as stay-at-home moms and students and operated several aspects of my own successful company. I also supervised a backgrounds division at a mid-level - sized company in SO CA, yet somehow that is not enough experience to supervise a group of five 9 to 5ers out of Nashville? Give me a XXXing break as Denis Leary would say. What you really should be saying is Suzy Q, who was about five feet tall and 25 years old may have felt somewhat intimidated during the interview as I towered over her. At one point in the interview when I asked a question about the job description, Suzy Q stated something like, "There is a time for your questions when I am done with my part of the interviewing process. At this time, I ask the questions. I will let you know when you can ask the questions." OK Suzy, you go girl. You make sure I know you are in charge, kicking butt and takin' names! She then asked me questions about how would I feel if my manager told me "no?" My answer was no is no. Business is business. If my superior feels something is a no, I must honor that. I later learned she would have been my supervisor. Was she afraid I wouldn't listen to her? Please. I don't care! My God, did I really lose a job opportunity over someone feeling intimidated? I am so not convinced it is about my background. I feel totally confident I could have accomplished this job and then some. At one point, she stated, "My, aren't you confident." Yes, I am! Isn't that what someone wants in a supervisor? Or do I have it wrong? Whatever. I know they are lying and it bothers me when people pull crap like that, but on the other hand if God wanted me in this position, it would be done. I am not meant to be there. Moving forward now.

As my day went on, I got busy with my real estate leads and appointments and got a visit from My country cowboy neighbor. Totally nice guy and turns out he is very funny. He came by to talk about my cutting my hay crop. I learned more about his situation and that he was married for about a minute.

I then spoke to my good friend Tammy. She has been a great daily support to me during this adjustment period. Today was somewhat of a struggle for me after the job turndown, so Tammy reminded me of the Secret and to keep up with my reading. Secret keepit I say (for about 30 seconds) and then I decide to hang in there and get back in the race. Thank you Tamster. Love you!

I then went to go visit the horses and throw them some feed and wouldn't you know, I lost some brain cells and left the barn gate open for two seconds thinking, "Oh Andy is too busy eating." No Andy PRETENDED like he was busy eating and then made a run for it. I swear he pulled a "hee hee hee" on me as he ran away down the back pasture. Every time I got close, he ran into the woods or around the fields. I called country cowboy back to help. He and his big sidekick came back and wrangled Andy back into the barn. Thank God for Mr. Kuuntry Cowboy!

Later, he then decided to come fish in my pond with his big sidekick. I went down and spent time with them at the dock, only to be offered some sweeeet tea. This sweeet tea was in a jar and smelled great -- just smelled like 100 proof alcohol with peaches. Mr. Kuuntry critter and his little friend had tried to get me to down some moonshine made by one of the neighbors. Where is my camera? You had to be there on that one.

Anyhow, we later all went out for dinner and had fun. They are actually very funny and gave me the 411 on who to stay away from. Mr. Cowboy is actually really knowledgeable about horses and seems to know a lot of respected people in the horse world.

I then got home and got an email from my dear friend Alex who is my good buddy here. She sent me her latest song. Loved it. There is someone who I can't wait to see take off with her talent. Go for it Alex! Love you.

This is what goes on when you have time on your hands!

Lieselhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13184570940944503110noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1118803500471315261.post-40286571603421490402007-05-14T07:57:00.000-07:002007-05-14T07:57:31.540-07:00

Lieselhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13184570940944503110noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1118803500471315261.post-91342012282549388422007-05-13T09:05:00.000-07:002007-05-13T10:56:43.145-07:00Mother's DayToday is Mother's Day and I am missing my mom a great deal. I spoke to my mom this morning and learned that it's a perfect SO California day out. So, I hope she enjoys it. To all good mothers out there -- Happy Mother's Day! I hope your kids know who great you are!

To my mother -- this is a day when I cannot be with you and celebrate your greatness. Please know how much I love you and that I would be lost without your guidance and love. Thank you for always thinking grandly of me and all my endeavors. Thank you for teaching me about adventures and taking chances. Thank you for showing me how to laugh and have fun. Thank you for my education, for chasing me around with a paddle (!), for getting me my first horse, for bailing me out (again and again), for appreciating the arts, for understanding, for yelling out the window, for teaching me compassion for others, for reaching out to others, for encouraging me when I needed it, and for being more mother than most mothers and fathers are combined. I love you mom. I could go on I am sure. I miss you a bunch!

Lieselhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13184570940944503110noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1118803500471315261.post-66422993576684441212007-05-12T20:14:00.000-07:002007-05-12T20:17:51.369-07:00

Lieselhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13184570940944503110noreply@blogger.com0
